About Tide Calculations: This calculator uses official LINZ tide data points (typically 4 per day) and applies the traditional maritime "Rule of Twelfths" for interpolation between these points. This method accounts for the non-linear nature of tidal movement (slow near high/low, faster in the middle). Results marked with an asterisk (*) indicate interpolated values using this method.
